What job did you hold right before you came to work at Event 360? I was a Marketing Support Specialist at MetLife.

Was there anything in particular that brought you to Event 360? I worked for Event 360 from 2004-2006 and really missed working for a company where I not only enjoyed what I did for a living, but also felt like I was helping to make a difference in people’s lives. A few years ago during a job search, I just happened to come across a job opening for the type of work I was looking to do and was very excited to come back.

If you weren’t working at Event 360 what would you be doing? Hopefully I would be following my dream of living as a full-time artist, teaching art classes, and encouraging others to explore and embrace their creative sides.

Favorite part of your job? The people. I feel so lucky to work with so many talented and caring people and I love that it has given me friends all across the country.

What do you like to do in your free time? I love spending time with my family. I have two daughters and a dog who all love to go on adventures together. I am also a mixed-media artist and I love to write. For the past couple of years I’ve been teaching classes through a local arts organization. I’m lucky that both of my girls are very artistic so I get to share that work with them and they are always a huge source of inspiration for me. I’m also an avid reader so in the very few moments I have to myself, I usually grab a book and escape to a far-away land.

Most memorable event experience? During check-in of the first Twin Cities 3-Day I ever staffed, the tornado sirens went off and we had to relocate everyone inside the Minnesota Zoo. It was a very exciting way to start the event (and it helped get the adrenaline pumping and shake off any remaining early morning grogginess), but it was also amazing to see our team pull together and make the best of a really crazy situation.

You’re showing off your hometown to a friend who has never been to visit before. What’s on your must see/do/eat list? I’m currently living in Minneapolis and there are so many great places to eat and fun things to do here. We’d start the day with breakfast at Victor’s 1959 Café. They have incredible Cuban food (I’d recommend the Ranchero Cubano). For lunch or dinner, my favorite restaurant to take out-of-town guests to is Brasa Rotisserie. The building used to be a car repair shop and they kept the huge bay doors when they turned it into a restaurant. During the summer they open the whole side of the building and you can also eat on the brick patio. And we’d have to go to Sebastian Joe’s Ice Cream for dessert (their Pavarotti ice cream is the best, it’s a combination of caramel, banana and chocolate chips).

There are great events in town all year round, but the summer is packed with outdoor concerts and art fairs (that usually include food trucks and live music). We’d also have to take a walk around one of the many lakes in the area or rent kayaks (to work off all the food we’ve eaten). And one of my other favorite things to do is hunt for treasures at one of the many local antique stores. My favorite way to spend the evening is just to sit on the deck with friends, watch the kids and dog play in the yard and soak it all in.

On event, what three things are we guaranteed to find in your bag? Pen/paper, cell phone, lotion

One word to describe Event 360? Passionate
