On Saturday, April 25, the Event 360 team once again painted the country purple as we brought PanCAN PurpleStride 2026 to life.

This year marked the fifth year of Event 360’s partnership with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN), and with that milestone came the fifth year of an extraordinary accomplishment: producing 50 PurpleStride events in 50 cities nationwide, all on the very same day. From California to Rhode Island, Minnesota to Miami, our Event 360 and team360 staff worked shoulder to shoulder with PanCAN staff and dedicated local volunteers to deliver inspiring, high-energy walk events that advanced PanCAN’s mission of improving the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer.

PurpleStride 2026 by the numbers:

  • 50 events across the U.S.
  • 50,000+ participants
  • $16 million (and counting!) raised
  • 110 Event 360 and team360 staff
  • More than 200 vendors booked

While each PurpleStride event lasts just a few hours, the work behind them spans the better part of a year. Planning for April 25, 2026 began almost as soon as the 2025 series wrapped. Securing and permitting dozens of venues, coordinating route logistics, sourcing backup locations when needed, scheduling check-in calls with local volunteer leaders, booking travel, and contracting the hundreds of vendors needed to outfit 50 simultaneous events is a process that requires months of relentless organization and communication.

Throughout the summer and fall, our Production team worked to lock in sites and navigate permit applications while also revisiting contingency plans in markets where venue or municipal changes required fresh thinking. Meanwhile, the Market Communications team once again connected with volunteers in every PurpleStride city to launch the planning cycle, aligning expectations and building momentum market-by-market. As winter turned to spring, the Purchasing team was deep in the details of arranging the extensive inventory of rentals and services required to transform parks, plazas, and streets around the country into fully realized event venues.

Even after five years of partnership, it is hard to overstate the scale of what PurpleStride demands. Fifty unique events means fifty unique municipalities, fifty sets of stakeholders, countless moving pieces, and an almost endless list of details that all must come together on one single Saturday. Pulling that off requires not only expertise, but trust, collaboration, and an extraordinary willingness from every department to move in sync.

Fortunately, by year five, that sync was stronger than ever.

The biggest challenge we faced this year was introducing some changes to the infrastructure packages (tent sizes/quantities, audio packages) we’d be using for the events. Participant counts for PurpleStride events vary greatly — from a couple hundred participants at the smallest events to well over 2,000 at the largest — so we determined that a “one-size-fits-all” approach to infrastructure didn’t make the most sense anymore. As a result, we worked with PanCAN to adjust the infrastructure footprint for about 25% of the events (ones with fewer than 700 participants) to better suit the needs of those smaller events. These changes impacted everyone on the PurpleStride planning teams, from Production and Purchasing to Market Communications. With any change comes inevitable growing pains, but working together, we saw the infrastructure updates executed with success and minimal issues.

One of the defining features of PurpleStride 2026 planning was the confidence that comes from experience. Our long-standing relationships with PanCAN staff and volunteers allowed many conversations to begin not with uncertainty, but with familiarity. We knew the markets, they knew our process, and in many cases the planning approach was less about reinventing and more about refining. Lessons learned over the past four years continued to pay dividends as our teams identified efficiencies, streamlined communication, and sharpened internal systems that made the entire operation more cohesive.

That’s not to say the road to April 25 was without its challenges. Large-scale national event production always comes with curveballs, and this year was no exception. Venue adjustments, timeline compressions, staffing transitions, and the inevitable last-minute logistical surprises all tested the team’s flexibility. But by now, PurpleStride has taught us an invaluable lesson: obstacles are not detours from the process — they are part of the process. Time and again, our staff met each challenge with calm problem-solving, adaptability, and a shared determination to keep moving forward.

When event weekend arrived, the payoff for all that preparation was unmistakable. At the National Command Center — located at PanCAN headquarters in southern California and staffed by Event 360 and PanCAN leadership from Thursday through Saturday — there was a noticeable sense of steadiness. Command remained fully prepared to troubleshoot any issue from the field, whether weather concerns, signage mishaps, vendor questions, or on-site operational surprises (one fun surprise for 2026 was dealing with a potentially event-busting e-coli scare in one of our markets). But compared with earlier years of our partnership, the volume of escalations was refreshingly light. Across the country, staff were confidently making informed decisions in real time, handling challenges independently, and keeping their events moving smoothly without needing constant intervention.

That level of autonomy is one of the clearest indicators of how far this team has come. The professionalism, judgment, and preparedness displayed by our event staff throughout PurpleStride weekend reflected not only individual talent, but years of collective learning and collaboration.

By the time the last finish lines were crossed and the final storage units were packed up, one thing was clear: PurpleStride 2026 was another tremendous success.

We could not be more thankful for our partners at PanCAN and the Event 360 and team360 staff whose hard work made these 50 events possible, nor more proud of the dedication they brought to every city, every site, and every participant experience. Producing a national event series of this size will never be simple, but this year proved once again that there is no challenge our team cannot meet.

Fifty meaningful, memorable, mission-driven events — nearly half of the total number of events we will produce this year — are officially in the books and we are already looking ahead to what’s next.
