We’re excited to introduce this week’s Event 360 Teammate Spotlight. Enjoy a glimpse into the personal and professional life of Stephanie Winkel!

Position:  Twin Cities Field Marketing Coordinator, Susan G. Komen 3-Day®

Start Year:  2014

What job did you hold right before you came to work at Event 360? Right before I started with Event 360, I was the Program Manager of Personal Training for six years at one of the YMCA fitness clubs in the Twin Cities. I was responsible for developing, managing and implementing all of their revenue-based wellness/fitness programs for the club, as well as managing a staff of 10. In addition, I also had my own clients who I worked with on a weekly basis, training them to meet their fitness goals and helping them to improve their lifestyle.

Was there anything in particular that brought you to Event 360? It’s funny how I stumbled upon my job as the Field Marketing Coordinator. I was actually browsing a job website to make sure that a position I was hiring for was posted by the HR Department of my previous employer. When I saw that there was a position available to work on the 3-Day I knew I needed to explore this further so I clicked on it.  Having been a participant of the Komen 3-Day in the past and having a mom who is a breast cancer survivor, I was excited about the opportunity at working behind the scenes of this amazing event that I loved so much. I immediately submitted my resume and the rest is history!

If you weren’t working at Event 360 what would you be doing? I would love to take a year off to just travel around the world without a care in the world. There are so many places I would love to explore.  Greece and Italy are on the top of my list!

Favorite part of your job? Event weekend! There’s nothing like seeing all of the hard work everyone has put into the event come together. The excitement and energy of both our team and our participants is so cool and it simply never gets old. Plus, my co-workers are amazing and make event weekend all the more fun!

What do you like to do in your free time? With three kids in sports and their busy school schedules, I feel like I hardly ever have free time! But when I do, it usually involves exercise- biking, running, yoga and strength training. It helps keep me sane! You’ll also find me sitting on a soccer or lacrosse field watching my kids play the sports they love. When I do have some down time I do like to veg on the couch with some mindless reality TV!

Most memorable event experience?  I would probably have to say my Pit 4 and Pit 2 crews that I worked alongside last year in Philadelphia and Atlanta. They were a wild bunch and certainly kept us all entertained on event! I was lucky to have such awesome crew members in both cities.

You’re showing off your hometown to a friend who has never been to visit before. What’s on your must see/do/eat list? Wow, this is a tough one! I would definitely show an out of town friend some of the beautiful lakes that are around the Twin Cities where we could go paddle boarding or sit dockside for lunch or dinner. We have tons of great restaurants in downtown Minneapolis and let’s not forget the statue of Mary Tyler Moore- for those of you old enough to even know who she is! Our theaters are great –many performers love coming to Minneapolis/St. Paul, so it’s always fun to check and see what’s in town and take in a show. For avid shoppers, there is of course the Mall of America, which they are currently expanding with even more stores and restaurants.

On event, what three things are we guaranteed to find in your bag? Tylenol, Diet Coke and gum.

One word to describe Event 360? Transformational
