We’re excited to introduce this week’s Event 360 Teammate Spotlight. Enjoy a glimpse into the personal and professional life of Kaleigh Glaza!
Position: Digital and Social Media Specialist
Start Year: 2016
What job did you hold right before you came to work at Event 360?
I did social media and marketing for an international foodservice company. Lots of time in kitchens and taste testing recipes!
Was there anything in particular that brought you to Event 360?
I had worked on events in the past, but nothing on the scale of what we do, and I loved the prospect of that challenge. I was also especially drawn to one of my clients, the Susan G. Komen 3-Day®, because I have seen the horrible effects of cancer in my own family. I loved that I could do a job that would also do good in the world.
If you weren’t working at Event 360 what would you be doing?
Probably something similar―but probably without all the pink tutus ????
Favorite part of your job?
Working all seven 3-Day events last year was the highlight of my professional career. Seeing all these amazing, dedicated, enthusiastic people just surrounded me with love and purpose. It put every day of work into true perspective and I am already getting emotional thinking about working the 2019 3-Days. I was able to work four of the 3-Day events this year and had total FOMO the other three weekends I missed!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love trying new restaurants in Chicago and I also travel whenever I can! London and Paris for the holidays are next on my list!
Most memorable event experience?
Closing Ceremonies on the 3-Day are always my favorite. There is such a feeling of celebration and excitement around completing such a huge achievement. My mom walked the 20-Mile in San Diego in 2017 and seeing her walk into the closing ceremony with all the participants was the best feeling in the world.
You’re showing off your hometown to a friend who has never been to visit before. What’s on your must see/do/eat list?
PORTILLOS. Chicago has tons of great food but this comfort, unhealthy, perfect fast food is always something that gets me excited and it’s the first thing I eat when I come home from a trip. Go-to order? Chopped salad, cheese fries and chocolate cake (DUH). I also love Blackbird, Café Robey and Fairgrounds Coffee for food. I always love going to the museums―The Art institute and Aquarium especially―and I love taking Chicago visitors there. Last but NEVER least, I am a huge Cubs fan, so I always find myself bringing guests to Wrigley Field for a game.
On event, what three things are we guaranteed to find in your bag?
Chapstick (always!!!), an extra ponytail holder, and an external charger for my phone.
One word to describe Event 360?
Collaboration.
