We’re excited to introduce this week’s Event 360 Teammate Spotlight. Enjoy a glimpse into the personal and professional life of Rene Tamayo!
Position: Event Execution Manager
Start Year: 2004
What job did you hold right before you came to work at Event 360? I worked in New York City at Pallotta Teamworks as a participant coach for the Boston to New York AIDSRide and was also a walker coach for the New York Avon 3-Day.
Was there anything in particular that brought you to Event 360? I wanted to continue to hone my skills working in event planning and production. I also wanted to work with many of the great co-workers and friends that I had worked with at my previous company.
If you weren’t working at Event 360 what would you be doing? I would be a high school theatre teacher.
Favorite part of your job? Working with a great team of people who are always striving to do the best that they can. What do you like to do in your free time? Performing at my community theatre in Brownsville, TX and renovating homes.
Most memorable event experience? Participating in the European AIDSRide, riding my bike 700 miles from Amsterdam to Paris over the course of six days. It rained continuously for five of the six days which made the ride even more challenging and memorable.
You’re showing off your hometown to a friend who has never been to visit before. What’s on your must see/do/eat list? Living in NYC part of the year, I would definitely provide a great tour of the city, especially some hot spots in my neighborhood in the West Village. I would include a few Broadway shows as well as some great walking tours around the city, including the amazing Freedom Tower and the walking path on the new High Line.
On event, what three things are we guaranteed to find in your bag? A Leatherman, handi-wipes and my event to-do list.
One word to describe Event 360? Impactful
