We created and facilitated a fundraising workshop for AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s team captains.
Event 360 partnered with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation to produce their Florida AIDS Walk & Music Festival and AIDS Walk Atlanta Music Festival & 5K Run. To strengthen fundraising confidence and increase fundraising performance for these no-minimum events, we facilitated a two-hour, in-person fundraising workshop for their team captains.
We began our partnership with AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) in 2010, transitioning their two signature events in Florida and Atlanta from 10K walks to a 5K followed by a half-day music festival.
While these events do not have a minimum fundraising requirement to participate, they have a unique beneficiary teams structure, in which local nonprofit organizations who are serving the HIV/AIDS community are given the opportunity to form teams for the event and keep 100% of the funds they raise, which are additionally matched by AHF.
While all Florida AIDS Walk and AIDS Walk Atlanta participants were provided with a fundraising webpage and fundraising tools, such as printable flyers, graphics and suggested social media posts, many of them did not have the basic foundational skills in how to fundraise.
AHF had been steadily working on increasing their culture of fundraising over the years, but their beneficiary teams, in particular, needed some more high-touch support and specific instruction.
Our P2P fundraising team created a fundraising workshop, complete with interactive elements and takeaways, which was facilitated by our expert fundraising coach. It was an in-person, two-hour intensive that left team captains feeling inspired and empowered.
The impact of our fundraising coaching workshop was immediate and measurable.
Participant feedback highlighted increased confidence, clarity, motivation and connection to the mission:
“We are more motivated than ever to fundraise and expand our programs. Using the knowledge and strategies shared, we can ensure our efforts are more impactful, reaching even more people in need. Let’s continue to build on what we’ve learned and work toward raising significant funds to make an even bigger difference in the lives of those we serve.”
The results prove what we already know: when you support fundraisers with coaching, and not just resources, they raise more money, feel more connected, and stay more engaged.
