We helped City of Hope transform their hospital campus into an inspiring, large-scale celebration of hope
Hosting a large-scale fundraising event on a working hospital campus involves a lot of complexities, from logistical considerations to the challenge of building mission-focused event elements to inspire and delight participants.
Walk for Hope is an annual fundraising event for City of Hope, one of the nation’s largest and most reputable cancer research and treatment organizations. Over its 27-year history, the Walk for Hope has raised more than $50 million, funding vital research, advocacy efforts, and dignity-giving care for all City of Hope patients.
In 2024, the team at City of Hope embarked on creating a new walk day experience and expanding from a single event to five in-person events across the U.S., including a signature event taking place on their main hospital campus, plus a virtual option. They selected to partner with Event 360 for our proven expertise in producing consistent, high-quality peer-to-peer fundraising events across multiple markets. Our team guided the successful relaunch of their flagship campus walk — previously paused during COVID — while scaling the experience to four new hospital sites nationwide.
Event 360 translated City of Hope’s vision into a seamless event experience: transforming the walk from a focus on women’s cancers to one inclusive of all cancer types, with an immersive “cancer ribbons” installation that gave voice to every patient community, and 5-foot-tall that spelled out HOPE, where participants wrote and shared heartfelt messages to loved ones affected by cancer. We also brought deep operational expertise, including designing campus site plans that accommodated 6,000+ participants, managing hospital traffic and parking without interrupting 24/7 hospital operations, and engineering audience zones with jumbotrons so all attendees could engage in the stage program no matter their location within the event site.
In 2024, over 10,000 participants raised more than $2.5 million through the Walk for Hope and in 2025, participation increased to over 20,000 and the fundraising total topped $3.5 million.
“Love working with you all so SO much. Thanks for a really fantastic event! Here’s to an even better 2026!”
