Since 2001, the MMRF Team for Cures 5K Walk/Run program has raised both awareness and funds for multiple myeloma research. This family-friendly series is held annually in thirteen cities and participation offers camaraderie and knowledge-sharing for patients, family members and friends of patients, members of the myeloma community, and others.
Event 360 was hired in 2016 to oversee event production, volunteer management and recruitment email communication. So far this year, we’ve completed six events, with seven more still to go.
As of May 15, 2018, over 5,500 participants have raised more than $1.6 million for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. In fact, we hit a major milestone this year: The Boston 5K Walk/Run was the highest fundraising 5K in MMRF history, raising more than $930,000!
The event provides a great opportunity to experience the strength and spirit of myeloma patients. Friends, volunteers, runners and walkers of all ages join together to share a common mission and make a difference in the lives of myeloma patients.
