Getting to the end of the Susan G. Komen 3-Day® season is always bittersweet. While we welcome the opportunity to return to “normal life” and to catch up on sleep and our year-round jobs, the Komen 3-Day staff feels the absence of the Pink Bubble almost as much as our participants do! We love this event; we have fun and we work hard and we cherish the relationships we’ve built with our participants, vendors and the client. Since the first weekend in August, through the third weekend in November, we have zig zagged across the country to set up, execute, break down and pack up the 3-Day®. We’ve interacted with thousands of participants who have raised millions of dollars in seven unique cities. Each event presents different challenges and opportunities, and each city has its own feel and personality!

Check out next year’s schedule and consider joining us to walk, crew or volunteer. (And if you sign up to walk or crew by December 7th, you’ll automatically get 50% off the registration fee.) We promise you’ll have a life-changing three days! But don’t take our word for it, listen to a first-time walker who blogged about her experience walking in the San Diego 3-Day.

Christine starts her post off with: “Words cannot even begin to describe how amazing the Susan G. Komen San Diego 3-Day walk was. It was 3 days of inspiration, celebration, love, and hope. As a first-time walker I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I agreed to collaborate with the 3-Day, but I’m so glad I did.” And ends it with: “It was the most inspiring weekend I’ve ever experienced and it gives me hope for the future. I will be joining the fight again next year with my significant other by my side and my new found 3-Day family…”

We’ve had an amazing 2017 surrounded by inspiring participants who make the 3-Day the magical experience that it is. We are humbled by the opportunity to do this work and while we welcome the break, we’re already looking forward to being able to do it all over again in seven cities in 2018.
