We’re excited to introduce this month’s Event 360 Teammate Spotlight! Enjoy a glimpse into the personal and professional life of Jes Schneider.

Name:  Jes Schneider

Position:  Human Resources Manager

Start Year:  2018

What job did you hold right before you came to work at Event 360?
I was the HR Director for a Sheraton Hotel property in the Seattle, Washington area. It married my education and experience in human resources and hospitality, but it wasn’t a good fit.

Was there anything in particular that brought you to Event 360?
My interviews with the Event 360 owners and staff were so much fun! I felt like I could be myself. I also enjoyed the idea of working for a company that supports non-profits in their fundraising goals.

If you weren’t working at Event 360 what would you be doing?
In a dream world, I would still be a sushi chef or a stay-at-home mom to my two rescue dogs, Dexter & Jack!

Favorite part of your job?
After nearly a decade in HR, I’d have to say my favorite part is supporting our employees, so they can do their very best for our valued clients.

What do you like to do in your free time?
My most expensive hobby has to be makeup and skin care, but I love television, snuggling my dogs and reading.

Most memorable event experience?
My favorite memory has to be when I showed up to the opening ceremony of the San Diego 3-Day at 8:30am.  I neglected to check the event schedule and didn’t realize I was VERY LATE, almost no one was there. I’d only been with the company a few months and this was my first event. I was greeted by one of Rene’s big hugs, then he directed me to camp. I don’t drive, so I was wondering how I’d get there. Carol, the vehicle coordinator that season, drove up and offered to take me to command, with the caveat that she had to make a few stops. This trek turned into the most amazing first day on a 3-Day ever. Carol loves the 3-Day and the education I received was truly a blessing, not to mention the folks she introduced me to. We went to pit stops, found the caboose, and hit the tail end of lunch. I cannot imagine having my fervor for this event company without my experience with Carol…and to think, if I had bothered to look at the schedule for the day, I would have missed out!

You’re showing off your hometown to a friend who has never been to visit before. What’s on your must see/do/eat list?
I don’t really have one hometown, but if someone comes to visit my current home in Evanston, Illinois, we usually go to Sketchbook Brewery for some beers, La Principal for tacos, and to see the Chicago side of Lake Michigan. If my guest wants a coffee, we must go to Brothers K.

On event, what three things are we guaranteed to find in your bag?
Chapstick, sunscreen, and a hair tie. If it can’t fit in my pocket, I won’t carry it on event.

One word to describe Event 360?
