Name: Alex Koon

Position: Programs & Participant Support Coordinator

Start Year: 2023

What job did you hold right before you came to work at Event 360?

I came from a marketing agency that catered to small businesses.

Was there anything in particular that brought you to Event 360?

I immediately fell in love with Event 360’s values, particularly “Passion for Good.” I think the job listing even said something along the lines of “are you a DO GOODer?” I was so excited about the idea of working alongside a group of such passionate individuals striving towards the same goal as me — to do work for good!

If you weren’t working at Event 360 what would you be doing?

Traveling full-time, probably in a van with my dog. 😊

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love spending time outside! Camping, rock climbing, biking, and picnicking with friends are some of my favorite things.

What are you most excited about going into your first event weekend with Event 360?

I’m really looking forward to being able to connect with the participants and watch how their participation in the event impacts them. On top of the incredible fundraising that comes out of so many of our events, I’m so moved by the empowerment and support that comes out of these communities and I can’t wait to be a part of it.

You’re showing off your hometown to a friend who has never been to visit before. What’s on your must see/do/eat list?

You can’t visit Denver without taking in some incredible mountain views, so I always take my visitors to Lookout Mountain for a stunning overlook of the Front Range. Then, we’d head back into town to my favorite coffee shop/bookstore combo, Mutiny Café, and then end the day at Illegal Pete’s for tacos and the BEST queso for dinner.

On event, what three things are we guaranteed to find in your bag?

Chapstick, sunscreen, and, most importantly, a snack.

How do you practice self-care during a busy events season?

I love taking long walks with the pup, bubble baths, and journaling. It’s so important to remember to carve out some time for yourself!

One word to describe Event 360?

Passionate.
