We’re excited to introduce this week’s Event 360 Teammate Spotlight. Enjoy a glimpse into the personal and professional life of Heather Fischbach!
Position: IT Help Desk Coordinator
Start Year: 2015
What job did you hold right before you came to work at Event 360? I was a sales associate in the shoe department of a Bergner’s department store (E360 is much less tasking on my college-student budget).
Was there anything in particular that brought you to Event 360? Have you seen our website? Looking for a position in IT, that was a huge draw. I wanted to work with the creative minds behind that impressive display. Not to mention the fun, professional atmosphere E360 projects. I believe the job listing (or maybe it was my phone interview) mentioned the need for a sense of humor, and I was so overwhelmed with how unusually awesome that was, I applied on the spot. And here I am! Still thinking about how unusually awesome it all is.
If you weren’t working at Event 360 what would you be doing? I would either a) hopefully be in another IT position—but obviously not working with near as great a team as E360’s—or b) eating Ramen 3 meals a day.
Favorite part of your job? Also happens to be the most challenging part of my job: the fact that I get to work with colleagues from all across the country. Although jobs may take a bit longer to solve than if we were all working locally, it’s crazy to hear about the drought in California one hour and a torrential downpour in Portland the next, while experiencing a beautiful, partly cloudy day here in Chicago.
What do you like to do in your free time? Being a full-time student and part-time help desk coordinator, I love to relax in my spare time. Books are my go-to, but I also have a bit of an obsession with Netflix. All my activities have background music of some kind, whether it’s rock, jazz, classical, indie pop, the list goes on. I also spend a lot of weekends traveling back and forth from my city apartment to my fiancé’s house. When I get to go back home and see my family, I love spending a night out with my close friends and family or taking my “furry child”, a 3 year-old male pit bull, for walks with my fiancé.
Most memorable event experience? I haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing an E360 event yet, but I do know that the E360 team knows how to put on a good event. I’m sure my first will be one of the most memorable experiences of my life!
You’re showing off your hometown to a friend who has never been to visit before. What’s on your must see/do/eat list? Seeing as how you could miss my whole hometown in the blink of an eye, we’d have to traverse the area to make it a day-long trip. I’d take them north through the hills of Savanna and Sebula, IL because in the fall, that area is the definition of scenic. In that general direction is Galena, IL, which is also beautiful and full of history, such as old-timey shops. Then we’d probably head back south towards Dixon, IL to dance to whichever one of my friends’ bands is playing locally that night. Did I mention I love music?
On event, what three things are we guaranteed to find in your bag? For my first event I plan on having a disposable camera, money to spend at the awesome merchandise tents, and lip balm.
One word to describe Event 360? Family.
