The P2P fundraising event industry is going through a time of uncertainty like never before. With mass gatherings halted in markets large and small, non-profits are scrambling to postpone, cancel, or virtualize their runs, walks, rides, and other fundraising events. From 5K’s to 200-mile bike rides, we’ve seen our partners struggle to postpone or cancel 2020 events while still continuing fundraising and cultivating their top fundraisers, teams, sponsors, and donors. Virtual events have been key to non-profits’ livelihoods in 2020, but as we move into 2021, our team knows there needs to be a bridge between completely virtual events and returning to events the way they’ve always been.
We know mass gatherings probably won’t happen this year. But our team is using these unfortunate circumstances to drive our own innovation and create a brand new type of event: the 5x5K FOR GOOD. Non-profit participants who are passionate about running or walking to support their favorite charity are eager to get back out there, so we’re offering a new way to do just that: a new 5K for this new era. The challenge? To run or walk five 5Ks in 24 hours. We’ll provide the start lines and a contactless check-in with app-assisted route guidance and the participants do the rest! And as with all Events FOR GOOD, we’re using a collaborative model where each charity partner keeps 100% of the funds raised by their participants.
At Event 360, we love to DO GOOD. We’re hoping this innovative, contactless event can be used by organizations to engage supporters and raise funds to fuel non-profit impact. The 5x5K FOR GOOD is our first concept that provides the feel of a live experience, but in a contactless and app-assisted way that is safe for this fall and an uncertain spring. We’ve brought all of our production and logistics expertise to bear in creating this concept, and are proud to launch next month.
